Warm Saturday ahead, orchards waking up
Fifteen degrees and mainly clear this morning — a good day to get outside before the clouds move in for the weekend. The orchard rows are starting to show colour, those first tight buds that mean the whole hillside is about to shift.
With the lake sitting calm and the air still dry at 37% humidity, it's a fine morning for a walk along the waterfront or up through the benches. Tomorrow climbs to 17, so the mild stretch is holding — spring is doing its job quietly.

Orchard rows waking up, cool morning ahead
Clear skies this morning over Okanagan Lake, but cloud is rolling in through the day — temperatures should climb to around 15°C, which is exactly what the apple and cherry trees have been waiting for. If you're out early, there's a definite bite to that 11 km/h breeze off the water.
The orchards along Giants Head Road are starting to show what spring looks like here — tight buds swelling on the branches, that particular green that only lasts a week before everything rushes into blossom. Worth a slow drive if you have a few minutes this afternoon.
Weekend looks warmer, with Saturday pushing toward 18°C. Good time to get the garden beds turned over before the real rush begins.

Longer days, cool mornings, orchards waking
We're at that point in late March where you can really feel the season shifting. The days are stretching out now—eleven hours of solid daylight—and even though the mornings are still cool and crisp, there's something different in the air. The orchards are showing their buds, that early hint of green that means things are stirring.
Spring weather out here can be moody this time of year: clear one moment, overcast the next, maybe a touch of fog rolling across the lake. But that's not stopping people from getting outside more. The waterfront paths are busier, the patios are getting dusted off. Dress in layers and take what the day gives you—it's the only way to do March in Summerland.

Buds appearing, mornings still crisp
The fruit trees are starting to show—buds swelling on the branches, that quiet promise of what's coming. But spring's keeping the mornings cool here, with gray skies and a fresh wind off the lake.
You notice the daylight though. It's stretching later into the evening, and even on an overcast day like this, people are out more—checking the orchards, thinking about gardens. Spring doesn't rush here; it settles in slow and steady, and there's something right about that rhythm.

Spring wind keeps things lively today
Good morning, neighbour. We've got clear skies this morning and that fresh lake breeze is picking up—perfect for a walk down to the water if you've got the time. Seven degrees is still coat weather, but it's the kind of day that reminds you winter's really done with us.
The orchard buds are swelling nicely with all this daylight we're getting back. Keep an eye on the forecast though—a bit of drizzle moves in this afternoon, and Monday's looking cooler. Nothing we haven't seen before, but worth tucking the tender seedlings back under cover if you've got them out yet.
